Discovering the Mind: More then a decade ago, while observing a person that was in the mid-stages of Parkinson Disease and was quietly but rapidly advancing into Alzheimer. I would observe this individual as he would be watching television and I would observe as he would get a distant look as if his thoughts were somewhere else, (ohm out) if you will. Then he would begin to describe things present that I could not see: people coming through the ceiling, cars at the mail box and so on. This was during a time that I was a prison administrator/operational manager for the State of Michigan. In my office one morning over coffee, I described to a prison psychologist I was working with what I had observed. I asked, is this all organic? Is this just some neuron that didn't synapses quite right, some cells that aren't functioning properly or while in an altered state of consciousness has this person slipped into a different frequency, dimension perhaps and are these things he is seeing real? Like many other things that we know are there but can't see. That question was not designed for an answer nor was none expected, but it was that question that drove me to learn everything I could about the workings of the mind. Not the brain, but the mind. I wanted to know about the body-mind connection. What exactly was consciousness? What was the conscious, unconscious and the super-conscious mind? I decided to use hypnosis as an altered states vehicle to explore the workings of the mind. Once I had learned hypnosis and hypnotherapy and was doing research the demand for therapy was such that, well the rest is on listed pages.
